Joy Dolores Thurbon Thorne , 83, of Oak Hill, WV died peacefully
on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill,
WV. 

Born September 19, 1927 at Rush Run, WV she was the daughter of
the late John David Thurbon, Sr. and Hattie Armentrout Thurbon. 

Joy was a member of the Rock Lick Church and loved her church
family. 

Her husband, Robert Lee Thorne preceded her in death on
September 17, 2004. 

Surviving are her one son, Robert L. Thorne, II, three
daughters, Debra Lynn Bibb, Mary Lou Basgier and Gretta Lee
Thorne and four grandchildren, Kelly Dillman Black, Troy
Dillman, Jenifer Patterson and Joy Bibb Baumbush. 

She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Lauren Rebecca
Dorchin, Caleb Dillman, Star Baumbush, Cory Black and Cade
Black, one brother, George Howard Thurbon and two sisters,
Thelma Anne McCann and Susie Page. 

We love you Mom! 

In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Thorne's body was donated to
the WVU Human Gift Registry. 

A memorial service will be on Tuesday June 28, 2011 at 1:00 P.M.
at The Rock Lick Church. Following the memorial service, all
family and friends are invited to a gathering at the Minden
Community Center. 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be
made to the Rock Lick Church, PO Box 304, Minden WV 25879 to
help carry on God's work.
